Man in his 30s killed after being hit by car on a motorway

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for witnesses to a road collision which left a man in his 30s dead.

The 31-year-old man was hit by a car on M11 at Roscath in County Wicklow at around 10.25pm.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The local coroner was notified and the man’s body was removed to the mortuary at Loughlinstown Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Diversions are in place on the southbound carriageway of the road between junctions 18 Wicklow South and 19 Brittas Bay.

Northbound traffic is unaffected. The scene is preserved and Garda forensic collision investigators have been notified to attend.

Investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
