Wicklow pub badly damaged in fire overnight

The Vevay Inn in Bray, Co Wicklow, was extensively damaged in a blaze that broke out in the early hours of this morning.

Fire services and the Gardaí were called to the Vevay Inn at about 4.30am to tackle the flames.

The fire has been extinguished and no injuries have been reported.

The cause of the blaze has not yet been established and the scene is being preserved for technical examination.

Vevay Road has now reopened both ways between Pultand Road junction and O’Byrne Road junction, according to AA Roadwatch.
