Man in his 50s shot in Wicklow after opening door to gunmen

The man answered his door and was shot.

GARDAÍ IN GREYSTONES are investigating after a man in his 50s was shot last night.

It is believed the man answered the door to his home in Redford Park in the Wicklow town at around 9pm last night.

When he went to the door, he was met by two men, one of whom shot and injured him.

He was taken to hospital, where his condition is reported to be stable.

Gardaí in Greystones are investigating.
