Poll: Will the new insolvency service work?

It is launched today but will the service for struggling borrowers actually work?

THE NEW INSOLVENCY Service of Ireland has been launched today with the aim of helping to “restore people who are insolvent to solvency in a fair, transparent and equitable way”, according to its website.

The service is expected to be pretty busy in the coming weeks as those who are unable to meet their obligations to creditors seek a sustainable solution.

But concerns have been raised about how effective the service will be for those struggling with debt and whether the banks’ right to veto proposed arrangements will have a big impact.

So today, we want to know: Will the new insolvency service work?
