WIN: Get your rent paid for an entire month, thanks to Circle

What will you spend the extra cash on?

justin-schuler-253611 Unsplash Unsplash

YOU MIGHT HAVE successfully made it to hump day, but for many people, it’s still over two weeks until payday and things are already starting to look a little bleak.

That’s why we’ve teamed up with social payment app Circle to offer one very lucky reader the chance to have their rent covered for an entire month.

As the latest rental price reports showed as recently as last week, the average cost of renting has risen nationally by 7.37% to €987, which is a considerable amount to set aside each month.

So, we’d like to treat one of our readers to a month’s rent, paid for by Circle – an instant, free, easy and social way to send money to anyone in the world (with the ability to add text, gifs, emojis and images).

Here’s how to make sure you’re in with a chance to spend a month living rent-free:

  1. Download the Circle app.
  2. Enter your details (name, email and password, or you can sign up directly with Facebook).
  3. Verify your phone number and e-mail.
  4. Press request, enter how much your rent is, include a little note telling us why you’d love to win (emojis are encouraged) and send it to rent@circle.com.

Money can be a tricky business. Make things more simple for yourself this month by downloading Circle, an instant, free, secure and fun way of sending money to people no matter where they are in the world.

Terms and conditions: The winner will be selected at random and contacted by Circle by midnight Friday, August 4th and the prize will be paid into their account. The competition is not open to open to staff of Circle, their immediate family members or associated companies. Prize fund maximum is €1,500. Full Journal Media terms and conditions are available here.

Incredibly funny writer. The Adrien Mole series goes well beyond his teenage years. I’d recommend them to anyone.

Always loved the line about Adrian Mole’s dad jumping out of bed upon hearing of the falkland’s invasion thinking they were islands off the coast of Scotland.

As someone whose teenage years began in the 1980s, it’s so hard to describe the effect the Adrian Mole books had on me. I loved the books then and I love them just as much now. Sue was an exceptionally gifted writer who came up with some of the wittiest and downright funniest writing ever.

Adrian, Pandora, George and Pauline, Bert Baxter, Barry Kent, the dog…I could go on all night. So many people owe her a massive debt of gratitude. RIP Sue.

I just checked the journal just before I put my head down for the night and can’t believe this absolutely dreadful news. This woman’s writings were unsurpassed and insightful beyond belief – meant so much to me so long ago and still now. Won’t sleep tonight and am cracking open a bottle of Teachers to drown my very deep sorrows. Sleep easy Sue.

Perhaps we all saw a little of ourselves reflected in Adrian’s teenage angst , a most original writer lots tried to copy her style no one could equal it.

Gonna be incredibly selfish, but I really hope the last book was completed. If that series ends on the prostate years it’ll be terrible.

RIP Sue. Adrian has left us all with fond memories of our youth as we all laughed and identified with so much of what was in each book. It was like finding ourselves.
