Woman (30s) in critical condition after two-car collision in Cork

The crash happened on the N28 at Carrs Hill, Mount Oval at around 10am this morning.

A WOMAN IN her late 30s is in critical condition after a two-car collision in Cork.

The crash happened on the N28 at Carrs Hill, Mount Oval at around 10am this morning. 

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene. The woman, who was the driver of one of the cars involved in the collision, was taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital. Her condition is understood to be critical.

The driver of the second car, a man in his 40s, was assessed at the scene and did not require immediate hospital treatment.

A technical examination of the scene has been completed and the road has fully reopened, with all traffic diversions lifted.

Investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are also requesting road users with camera footage, including dashcam footage, from the area at the time of the collision to make it available to assist with their investigation.
