Woman in her 80s dies following single vehicle collision in Co Donegal

The collision happened in Falcarragh at around 1.30pm.

A WOMAN IN her 80s has died following a single vehicle collision in Co Donegal earlier today.

The collision happened at around 1.30pm on the N56, Ballina Road, at Falcarragh.

The woman was the only occupant of the car.

She was taken to hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Gardaí remain at the scene and the N56 at the Ballina Road is currently closed.

Local diversions are in place and Forensic Collision Investigators are conducting an examination of the scene.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling in the Falcarragh area between 1:15pm and 1:45pm are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
