Man arrested after mother is abducted from her home

Gardaí in Longford are investigating the incident.

GARDAÍ IN LONGFORD are investigating an incident which saw a mother of four abducted from her home.

The woman is believed to have been forcibly removed from her home near Edgeworthstown.

The woman, in her 20s, was violently taken from the home sometime after 4pm yesterday. Her children were in the house at the time.

Gardaí launched an operation and began searches of the local area.

They eventually found the woman in the early hours of this morning.

A man in his 20s was later arrested and is being detained at Granard Garda Station under section four of the Criminal Justice Act.
