Woman (40s) arrested following fire at house in Cork city

One man was taken University Hospital Cork for treatment, though his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A WOMAN IN her 40s has been arrested following a fire that occurred at a residence on the College Road in Cork this morning. 

The fire broke out at approximately 1am. The woman was arrested at the scene. 

One man was taken University Hospital Cork for treatment, though his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The fire was brought under control by local fire services and extensive damage was caused to the property.

The woman is currently detained at a Garda Station in the Southern Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The scene is preserved and a technical examination will take place today.
