Woman arrested over cannabis haul due before Carlow court

The woman has been charged in relation to a seizure of cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €250,000.

A WOMAN ARRESTED today over a drug seizure in Carlow earlier today has been charged and will appear before a special sitting of Carlow District Court this evening.

The woman, aged in her 40s, was arrested after a planned operation by the Carlow Drugs and Detective Units saw them seize cannabis plants during search of house.

Most of the plants were fully grown and found in the upstairs of the house. The drugs are believed to have a street value of approximately €250,000, pending analysis.

The woman was arrested and detained at Carlow Garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
