Woman attacked by two men in Cork

Gardaí are appealing for information after a woman in her 30s was set upon by two men at the grounds of a church in Cork city early on Saturday morning.

GARDAÍ ARE appealing for witnesses to a serious incident in Cork city at the weekend in which a woman in her 30s was allegedly attacked by two men.

The woman was assaulted as she walked home at around 3am on Saturday just off the pathway on the grounds of the Church of the Holy Spirit at Dennehy’s Cross.

Cork sources have indicated she was sexually assaulted and was taken to hospital, but has since been released.

Gardaí say the woman had walked along the Western Road towards Victoria Cross and up to Dennehy’s Cross, where the attack was reported to have taken place. A technical examination has been carried out at the scene.

They are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything or may have any information about the attack to contact them at Togher Garda Station on 021 494 7120, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111, or at any garda station.
