She will appear in court tomorrow.

A WOMAN HAS been charged in connection with a house fire in Drogheda that left a woman in her 70s with serious injuries.

The 26-year-old was arrested yesterday evening after three men were released without charge.

She will appear before Trim District Court at 11am tomorrow morning.

Gardaí and emergency services were called to the fire at Cord road around 1am on Saturday morning.

It’s understood the elderly woman was asleep in the house when the fire broke out. A neighbour entered the house and managed to take the woman to safety.

The fire was brought under control and both the man and woman were taken from the scene by Ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
