Woman (60s) dead and three seriously injured after three-car crash in Waterford

The three people injured in the collision were all taken to hospital.

A WOMAN HAS died following a three-vehicle collision in Co Waterford this afternoon.

The collision occurred on the N25 at Moonameen, Co. Waterford at apporoximately 2:10pm.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the collision, involving cars, which occurred at approximately 2.10pm.

A passenger of one of the cars, a woman aged in her 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her body has since been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

Three people were left with serious injuries after the collision.

The driver and passenger of the second car, a man and woman aged in their 50s, were taken to University Hospital Waterford shortly after the collision.

The driver of the third car, a woman in her 60s, was airlifted to hospital in Cork.

The road is currently closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, with local diversions in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage and were travelling in the area between 1.20pm and 2.20pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
