Woman dies after being struck by car

The incident occurred in Finglas this morning.

A WOMAN IN her 70s has died after being struck by a car on the North Road in Finglas earlier today.

At about 11.20am, the female pedestrian was seriously injured when she was hit by a vehicle. She was taken to the Mater Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the car was uninjured during the incident.

A technical examination of the scene was carried out by forensic investigators.

Gardaí in Dublin have issued an appeal for information and any witnesses are asked to contact the local station on 01 666 7500 or the confidential line on 1800 666 111.
