Woman (30s) dies and two men airlifted to hospital following two-vehicle collision in Carlow

A WOMAN IN her 30s has died and two men have been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a two-vehicle collision in Co Carlow this evening.

The collision, involving a car and a van, occurred on the N80 at Ballintrane at around 5.50pm.

The driver of the car, a woman in her 30s, was treated by emergency services at the scene but later died from her injuries.

The two male occupants of the van were both airlifted to hospital from the scene and are currently receiving treatment for serious injuries.

The road remains closed this, with an examination by Forensic Collision Investigators currently under way and local diversions remain in place.

Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling in the area at the time of the collision are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
