Woman dies after being hit by Luas tram

The woman was hit by a Red Line tram at 12.35am.

A WOMAN HAS died after she was hit by a Luas tram last night.

It happened after midnight at St James Walk, Rialto, Dublin 8. The woman was hit by a Red Line tram at 12.35am.

The scene of the incident was closed to allow a forensic investigation but has since reopened. The Coroner has also been notified of the death.

Gardaí are investigating and anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have information is asked to contact Kilmainham Garda Station 01-666 9700, the garda confidential line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
