The incident happened in Dublin this morning.

A WOMAN IN her 20s is in a serious condition after being hit by a car in Dublin this morning.

She was crossing the road near Annesley Bridge just after 6.30am when she was struck by a car driving towards the city centre.

The Garda Press Office said she was taken to the Mater Hospital before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital.

The driver of the car was not injured.

Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene, which was investigated by the Garda Forensic Collision Investigation Unit, and the road has since reopened to traffic.

Gardaí in Clontarf have appealed for witnesses to contact them on 01 666 4800.
