Woman in serious condition after being struck by vehicle in Kilkenny

An 18-year-old woman remains in hospital after being struck by a car while crossing the road in Kilkenny on Sunday.

A YOUNG WOMAN remains in a “serious” condition in hospital in Kilkenny today after being struck by a vehicle as she crossed the street in the town yesterday evening.

The 18-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle as she crossed the road at Main Street, Gowran, at approximately 8.45pm on Sunday. She was removed to St Luke’s Hospital, where she remains in a serious condition.

The road has reopened after a forensic collision investigation.

Gardai are appealling to any witnesses to the collision to contact them at Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 – 7775000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
