71-year-old woman in hospital after being knocked off her bicycle in Cork hit and run

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A 71-YEAR-OLD woman is recovering in hospital after she was knocked off her bicycle in a hit and run yesterday evening.

It happened at Haymount, Lower Woodstock, Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork at 7:30pm.

The driver of the car left the scene.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A technical examination of the scene was then carried out.

Gardaí at Midleton Garda Station are appealing for witnesses.
