Woman killed following Mayo beach buggy crash

A woman in her 20s is killed, while another man remains in a serious condition, after the accident in Co Mayo yesterday.

A WOMAN in her 20s has died following an accident involving a beach buggy in Co Mayo yesterday.

The woman, and a man, were driving along the strand near Lacken, north of Ballina, in the beach buggy yesterday afternoon when it crashed at around 2:30pm.

The pair were rushed by ambulance to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar, where the woman later died from her injuries.

The man remains in a serious condition at the hospital, and Gardaí are investigating the cause of the tragedy.
