Woman killed following morning car crash in Cork

One woman is killed, while four others are in a serious condition, following a two-car crash on the N71 in west Cork.

ONE WOMAN has been killed, with four others left in a serious condition, after a two-car collision on the N71 in West Cork.

The crash, which occurred shortly after 11am this morning, took place on the N61 road between Clonakilty and Rosscarbery.

The four who are in a serious condition are understood to have been travelling in the same car as a deceased woman, but none of their injuries are thought to be life threatening.

All four remain in Cork University Hospital in the city.

The occupants of the other car, thought to be a family, are not understood to have sustained significant injuries.

No ages have been given for any of those involved.

Gardaí in Clonakilty have appealed for witnesses to this morning’s incident to contact them; the station can be contacted at (023) 8821570.
