Woman killed and several injured in 20 car pile-up in the UK

Around 10-15 people were treated at the scene.

A WOMAN HAS died after a 20 vehicle crash on a major road in Oxfordshire.

The crash, which stretched for more than 1 kilometre, happened on the A40 between Witney and Carterton at around 8.20 this morning.

Around 10-15 people were treated at the scene and another woman was taken to a major trauma unit at a nearby hospital.

Up to 20 vehicles were involved in the crash, six were reported to be badly damaged.

The road is now closed in both directions.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: “Road closures are currently in place, and drivers are advised to avoid the area.”
