Woman killed after crash with truck

The incident happened at around 8.30am this morning.

A WOMAN IN Galway has been killed after a collision with a truck earlier this morning.

This happened at around 8.30am on the N18 road at Clarinbridge.

The woman, aged in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

She was the only person travelling in her car at the time and the driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

Her body was removed to University Hospital Galway after being pronounced dead at the scene.

The stretch of road where the incident happened has since been closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Traffic going South on the N18 has been diverted at Oranmore with northbound traffic diverted at Kilcolgan.

Gardaí are asking for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them at Galway Garda Station 091 538000 or on the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
