Woman seriously assaulted in Belfast

The woman, aged in her 40s, was assaulted in the early hours of this morning in the Upper Newtownards Road area of Belfast.

DETECTIVES IN BELFAST are investigating a serious sexual assault on a woman in the Upper Newtownards Road area of Belfast in the early hours of this morning.

Police received a report that some time between 4.00am and 4.30am a woman in her 40s was assaulted near the Holywood Arches.

Police are working to establish the details of this incident and are asking anyone who may have been in the Upper Newtownards Road area and who may have seen the woman or who saw anything suspicious to contact them immediately.
