Woman slashed in face in Cork city

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

GARDAÍ IN CORK are appealing for witnesses following an alleged assault in the city yesterday.

A 29-year-old woman sustained facial stab wounds during an altercation with a man at Ardfallen Terrace off Friar Street at about 11.30am.

She was taken to Cork University Hospital where she is continuing to receive treatment. Her injuries are understood to be non-life threatening.

Investigating gardaí have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

In particular, they want anybody who was in the vicinity of Ardfallen Terrace and Friar Street between 11am and 11.40am yesterday to contact the Bridewell Garda station on 021-4943332 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111.
