A WOMAN IN her 20s was tied up and locked in a bathroom by masked men during an aggravated burglary today.

The PSNI said that detectives are appealing for information following the incident in the Craigmore Road area of Garvagh.

It was reported that three masked men carrying crowbars forced their way into a house shortly before 6am.

The woman was tied up and then locked in a bathroom during the incident.

Police said that six legally-held firearms were taken by the intruders. The masked men are believed to have made off from the scene in a vehicle. The woman was left badly shocked by her ordeal.

Detective Inspector Bob Blemmings said he is appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and observed any suspicious activity or vehicles, or anyone who has any information, to contact CID in Coleraine on the non-emergency number 101.
