Man questioned after woman's dismembered body found in flat

The woman’s body was found at the apartment three days after she was reported missing.

POLICE IN WALES have been given more time to question a fifty-year-old man detained in connection with the murder of a woman whose dismembered body was found at a flat on Friday.

A post-mortem on the body of 47-year-old Tracey Woodford is due to be carried out today.

Her body was found by police at the flat in Pontypridd on Friday afternoon, three days after she was reported missing.

The man, a resident of the property, is being treated as a suspect – police have confirmed. Tracey Woodford was seen with him at a pub on the night she went missing -  and they left the premises together.

“Police officers visited the suspect’s address at Andrews Court, Rickards Street, Graig and following a search of the property discovered a dismembered body – and the suspect was arrested on suspicion of murder,” Detective Superintendent Paul Hurley said.

Hurley said police wanted to hear from anyone who was in the pub on Tuesday night.

“Additionally, we would like to hear from you if you live near Andrews Court on Rickard Street in Pontypridd and may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the past few days.”
