If you're an Xbox One owner, your games collection just got a massive boost

Can anyone say backwards compatibility?

MICROSOFT WILL ALLOW Xbox One owners to play games from its predecessor.

Those who own games from the Xbox 360 will soon be able to play them on Xbox’s latest console. The feature is native meaning physical Xbox 360 disks will be compatible.

The new feature will come with the same additions to all Xbox One games including screenshots and game streaming with the Xbox app on Windows 10.

The feature is available to Xbox Preview members today while the official launch will happen at the end of the year.

And that was just the beginning of what Microsoft had in store. Another reveal was its Elite Wireless Controller, described as one for “the elite gamer”. It’s much like the traditional Xbox controller but it includes features like remappable buttons (for the A, B, X and Y buttons), a swappable directional pad and trigger locks.

The controller also comes with different preset configurations so if you like a specific set up for different games, you can change it by pressing the green buttons on the inside.

Yet the real star of the show was HoloLens, its headset which shows off holograph-like images to users. The device will get its own version of Minecraft (something that was revealed when HoloLens was first released) and this time, a live demo was displayed.

From it alone, worlds could be projected on a table and interacted with while other players played. Part of the demo included looking at different levels and inside buildings, and interacting with the world using voice commands and your hands.

The company announced a number of new games including Forza Motorsports 6, Halo 5: Guardians, Tom Clancy’s The Division, Dark Souls 3 and original titles like ReCore, from the makers of Metroid Prime, and Tacoma, from the creators of Gone Home.

It also revealed Xbox Game Preview, which offers players early access to certain games and help with their development as well as a partnership with Valve VR, complementing its other partnership with Oculus.
