Young girl in ‘serious but stable condition’ following criminal damage and assault at Cork residence

She has been transferred to Children’s Health Ireland at Temple Street and a garda spokesperson said she is in a ‘serious but stable condition’.

A YOUNG GIRL is in a “serious but stable condition” following a disturbance at a residence in Co Cork last night.

Gardaí were alerted to the disturbance at a residence at New Line in Charleville at around 11:30pm.

Gardaí were responding an incident of criminal damage and assault at the residence.

Considerable criminal damage was caused to a vehicle and a house and a young girl was transferred from the scene by ambulance services to Cork University Hospital.

She has since been transferred to Children’s Health Ireland at Temple Street and a garda spokesperson said she is in a “serious but stable condition”.

The scene of the incident was preserved and a technical examination has since been conducted by the Divisional Scenes of Crime Unit.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward or who may have been in the vicinity of the New Line in Charleville town last night between 10.30pm and 12.00am midnight.

Gardaí are also appealing to anyone with camera footage, including dash-cam footage, from the area at the time to provide it to investigating Gardaí.
