The national internship scheme has been used to take on 58 teachers, something which has been heavily criticised. What do you think?

ALMOST SIXTY TEACHING positions have been filled using the national internship scheme JobBridge.

The practice of hiring teachers in this way has been heavily criticised previously, with the Irish National Teachers’ Organisation describing it as a “disgraceful exploitation“.

However, the government has defended it as a way of giving teachers valuable practical experience.
