One Direction's Zayn Malik is stressed so is leaving the boyband's tour

Oh dear.

ZAYN MALIK HAS quit the One Direction tour, citing stress.

A short statement from the band confirmed his temporary exit from the lineup, saying he was “signed off with stress”.

He is en route to the UK to recuperate.

“The band wish him well and will continue with their performances in Manila and Jakarta.”

One Direction are due to perform in Manila on 21 and 22 March as part of their On The Road Again tour.

The 22-year-old singer had shown his frustrations on social media yesterday after reports about his private life.

After rumours about him getting close to a girl (who isn’t his fiancée, Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards) circulated this week, he took to Twitter to clear things up.

It’s been a busy day for the lads. Earlier, the Philippines slapped a €9,000 bond on them to ensure they could play their gigs thre. Half of that was for Zayn himself (it would have to be forfeited if he was caught using), so this will save the band a bit of money, we guess.

More: One Direction had to pay a €9,000 “drug bond” to be allowed play in the Philippines
