BBC reports that the animals were upset because some horses at the farm had recently been sold. A friend of the zebras’ owner said,

Some of the horses got sold and the other zebras got mad and trampled the gates and fled into the streets.

They broke free at around 3pm but have now been safely captured and brought back to the farm.

Thankfully the zebras were all unharmed and nobody was injured.
