#Áras11 diary: Where the candidates will be today

AS THE CAMPAIGN for the presidential election continues, check out where you can meet the candidates today.

All of the presidential hopefuls will be kicking off the day at 7.30am with a breakfast and debate at Wynn’s Hotel on Abbey Street, Dublin 1, organised by community organisation The Wheel.

Mary Davis will be following that up with an address to students at Cathal Brugha College in Dublin at 10.30am, then attending the launch of Get Ireland Active at 12.30pm in Dublin Castle. In the afternoon, she’ll be canvassing at Pearse Street Dart station from 4.45pm.

Seán Gallagher is speaking to the Towns of Excellence Institute at Carlow’s Talbot Hotel at 11.15am, before visiting the town’s Holy Angels Day Care Centre at 12.30pm. He is due to speak to the Carlow County Enterprise Board at 2pm, then meet students at the Institute of Technology Carlow at 3.30pm, before canvassing in the town at 4.30pm.

In the evening at 7pm he will address the St Patrick’s Community Group.

Michael D Higgins will be taking part in a breakfast and debate for community organisation The Wheel at Wynn’s Hotel on Abbey Street, Dublin at 7.30am.

David Norris will be officially launching his campaign at the Dublin Writers Museum on Parnell Square at 10.30am, before heading to Dundalk and Drogheda.

Dana Rosemary Scallon will be spending the day in Cork, appearing on 96FM before touring the English Market at 12.30pm, and visiting the St Vincent de Paul hostel at Deerpark, Friars Walk. She will then head to Bantry and Glengariff later in the evening from 6.30pm. She will meet with actor Maureen O’Hara in Glengarriff. At 5pm she will appear on Newstalk, speaking to George Hook.

Martin McGuinness will begin the day at The Wheel’s debate on Abbey Street, before appearing on Newstalk and later travelling to Mulhuddart and Tallaght. He’ll be at Neilstown Shops on Neilstown Road at 4.30pm, followed by a visit to the Neilstown Estate and then on to the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre.

At the time of publication no information was available on the public schedule of Gay Mitchell.

    No information on Gay and Martin, oh the tension got too much for them and they finally gave in to a night of passion.

    They should all be undergoing a lie-detector, bulls*** test. That will get rid of 4 or 5 of them as "Liar for president" does not a great poster make
