Dara Murphy

11
Party: Fine Gael
Constituency: Cork North Central

With six years of experience as a Cork County councillor behind him, Fine Gael candidate Dara Murphy is hoping to finally make the step up to the national political stage. Murphy's term as Lord Mayor of Cork came to an end in June 2010 and he will be hoping to capitalise on the profile and publicity experienced during his year in office. A successful businessman as well, the Glanmire man was nominated by John Bruton to serve on the National Social and Economic Council between 1995 and 1998.
