Deputy James Bannon is one of three Fine Gael candidates on the party ticket in Longford-Westmeath. Bannon, who served on Longford County Council since 1985 and as a Senator from 2002-2007, was first elected to the Dáil in May 2007. He was appointed as Fine Gael's Deputy Spokesperson on the environment in October 2010.

  • The completion of Phase 2B of Longford/Westmeath Regional Hospital and the retention of 24-hour A&E and all existing services
  • Getting Longford/Westmeath back to work, job creation and inward investment and support for medium/small businesses and the future of our farmers and the agricultural sector
  • Improved roads and water infrastructure for Longford/Westmeath and full broadband roll-out

 

Did you know?

Prior to entering politics on a full-time basis, Bannon worked as a farmer and an auctioneer.
