GALLERY: Dublin under water after torrential rainfall

A gallery of readers’ photos from the heavy flooding in Dublin and the east.

PARTS OF DUBLIN are underwater tonight as Dublin City Council and South Dublin County Council invoke an emergency response plan to the extreme weather that has engulfed the city.

Road closures are in effect across the city and residents are reporting their houses being flooded and drains overflowing. A number of them are posting pictures and videos on Twitter and YouTube. Head here for the latest information.

Here’s just a few of the photos that have been sent in by our readers this evening:

Not hearing very much from the Clontarf group who were protesting a flood wall just last week.

    The irony.

Had this sort of flooding twice in a year in Copenhagen (last time this August) Terrible for the people whose homes and businesses are affected. Fingers crossed that the damage isn’t as bad as it looks
