Gardaí seeking recovery of Citroen Xantia

Car may have been involved in a crash at Brittas Bridge, Co Limerick on Wednesday night or Thursday morning.

GARDAÍ IN LIMERICK are appealing for information to assist them in recovering a car which may have been involved in a traffic collision earlier this week.

The red- or maroon-coloured Citroen Xantia car may have been involved in a crash at Brittas Bridge on the Cappaghmore Road near Boher village on Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.

Gardaí say that the weather was ‘inclement’ over that period and that the car may be a 2000 or 2001 model.

Anyone who may have witnessed a traffic incident in the area over that period or who may have any information about it is asked to contact Roxboro Garda Station on 061 214340, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any garda station.

Further details from Gardai in Limerick reveal that the car was possibly a two door model, or maybe a five door hatch back. There is also some speculation that the incident may have indeed have occurred in Brittas Bay in Co. Wicklow and not in Co. Limerick as previously thought. However, Gardai remain certain that the incident did take place on Wednesday, or possibly Thursday, and that the car involved was indeed a Citroen Xantia.

    Or possibly a Ford Focus…

Bizarre story. Doesn’t make any sense. What was this incident that happened in “inclement” weather anyway?

The more accurate the information the more accurate and precise the response can be. Sounds like its a eye witness report that’s unsure of the make or model of car. But your right we should all do our part and report our suspicions. I would guess there is a high probability the car is local and the precise location must be a fact !

It could also have been Brittas, Co. Dublin.
