Instagram's new app makes timelapses ridiculously easy

Hyperlapse is Instagram’s second standalone app.

Instagram / Vimeo

INSTAGRAM HAS LAUNCHED a new standalone app that allows users to capture video and replay it in timelapse.

It’s called Hyperlapse and the Facebook-owned company says it has “built-in stabilisation technology” that mitigates against the problem of holding your phone still while you film.

When you’ve recorded the video it can then be played back at speeds at up to 12 times normal speed.

Hyperlapse has been launched as a separate app to the main product and users do not have to have an Instagram account to use Hyperlapse. It is, however, only available on iOS software.

“From documenting your whole commute in seconds or the preparation of your dinner from start to finish to capturing an entire sunset as it unfolds, we’re thrilled about the creative possibilities Hyperlapse unlocks,” Instagram said in a blog post.

@ Ray Farrell – what do you mean Comanche Country?

Oh, I see what you mean. The people in Finglas are Comanches / the real natives and the Gardai are like the Cavalry ruining their way of life. Yeah, I get it now.

Great work by the police. Really well done. However, if it’s a case of “enter one judge NO… into the proceedings”, then most of their efforts will have been for nought.
