THIS WAS WHAT greeted Michael Noonan as he arrived for work at the Department of Finance this morning.
Pizza isn’t exactly what we’d be after for our breakfast if we had the choice but Apache Pizza owner Robert Pendleton wanted to doorstep Noonan and encourage him to keep the 9 per cent VAT for the tourism and hospitality sector.
The special rate is due to expire at the end of this year and the government is still to determine whether it will be extended or let run out which the tourism and hospitality industry understandably doesn’t want to happen.
How effective this publicity stunt will be only time will tell but it doesn’t look like Noonan appreciated this offer this morning.

Stop being an idiot John, the journalists on here will all have worked for a newspaper at some stage and are people just doing a job, give it a rest!
John how is a news publication any different online or in print? Online is updated much quicker and therefore mistakes are bound to happen.
The main difference being that people can comment online and that opens the doors to stupid, annoying trolls.
Somewhere else today I saw someone commenting on a post you made that was removed. That’s at least two today, how can you not yet understand that no one wants to read silly trolling comments therefore having them removed in generally in the interest of intelligent debate and discussion.
