Take a break and meet a real-life Spiderman

The man is dressing up to feed the homeless in Birmingham.

A MAN DRESSED as Spiderman has been roaming the streets of Birmingham, offering help and food to homeless people.

The 20-year-old barman has received a lot of attention for his acts of kindness over the past few days, being featured on BBC News and Buzzfeed.

Tweeting from @BrumSpiderman, he has asked people who want to donate money to “get involved themselves and feed those who need it”.

“If people get involved themselves,” he says, “it helps to breakdown the depersonification of the vulnerable.”

He also wants to keep his identity a secret.

About twice a week, he buys sandwiches and hands them out between 9pm and midnight.

“I’ve worked with homeless and vulnerable people for three or four years and love seeing the smiles on people’s faces,” he told BBC News.

“Then I thought ‘if they are happy now, imagine how much bigger the smile would be if it was Spider-Man giving out the food’.”

Its better that food is handed out rather than money. Especialy if its obvious their addicts or someone you just know is gonna have someone standing in the shadows to collect.
Fairplay to @brumspiderman tho.. true acts of kindness..

If I’m ever unlucky enough to become homeless, and people keep buying me sandwiches and cups of tea when I’m just trying to get a few cents together for a hostel bed, because I’d “only spend it on drugs”, I’ll thank them politely but have my fingers crossed behind my back.
