Sightsavers asks people to take snaps of things they would miss being able to see were they to lose their vision… this is the result.

WHAT WOULD YOU most miss seeing if you were to lose your sight in the morning?

It’s a sobering question but one that has prompted hundreds of Irish people to submit their snapshots in response. Sightsavers Ireland hit on the thought-provoking topic for their first Snap-A-Sight contest, in order to highlight the issue of global blindness.

A spokesperson for Sightsavers Ireland said that the contest was particularly popular among teenagers who were “engaged in a ‘language’ they would understand – phones and photos”.

The top photos – as voted for by the public – go on display today at Filmbase on Curved Street, Temple Bar in Dublin.

You should head down there to see the full collection but this should give you a taster of how creative people got with their phones… and make you feel grateful for the gift of sight.

    Changing of the seasons is a beautiful image. Loss of sight is horrendous for people .
