Daft Daft

THIS WEEK THE Daft.ie house price report was released and asking prices for houses in Ireland’s cities are on the up.

Meanwhile, the residents of Longboat Quay are considering taking legal action, there may be another development in Kildare with major fire safety problems, and Ireland’s biggest regional shopping centre is for sale.

Here is all the week’s property news.

The Big Movers

Longboat Quay apartments

Residents of the beleaguered apartment block in Longboat Quay have been told that the Dublin Docklands Development Authority will help with financial assistance for the €4 million needed to carry out the required works on the unsafe apartments, but they are still considering legal action against the Dublin Docklands Development Authority and the receiver if the financial offer does not improve.

Alan Kelly, the Minister for the Environment, has said that he believes other housing units will have construction problems too - including an estate in Kildare.

The Daft.ie house price report

According to the recently released Daft.ie house price report, housing prices are on the rise again. Ireland’s major urban centres all experienced increases in house prices, with prices in Limerick rising the most at an average of 7.7%.
