THE METROPOLITAN POLICE in London has formally identified two more victims from the Grenfell Tower fire, bringing the total number named so far to 34.
Yahya Hashim was 13-years-old. Ali Jafari was 82.
In a statement on behalf of Hashim’s family, his aunt said: “You were the most kind, polite, loving, generous, thankful and pure hearted boy I ever knew.
Your dream of what you wanted to be when you grow up was very different from what other children dream of. You wanted to be Ustaz: a religion/Islamic teacher. Everyone that met you used to fall in love with your politeness and pure heartedness.
“I am so sorry that you had to leave this way. I am so sorry that you had to go through so much. I am so sorry that you were let down. I am so sorry that I was not there to alleviate your pain. Sorry!”
A statement released on behalf of Jafari’s family said: “Mr Ali Jafari, aged 82, died following being caught up in the fire at Grenfell Tower.
Mr Jafari is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren. Ali was loved and will be greatly missed by his family and the wider community.

Vigil
Last night, hundreds of people held a vigil for the victims of the London tower block inferno.
Four weeks after a devastating fire ripped through Grenfell Tower in west London, mourners lit candles in an area filled with pictures, flowers and handwritten notes of remembrance.
“I know people who have been lost, I know people who have lost people, I know people who are besides themselves with grief. It is really, really difficult,” local MP Emma Dent Coad said.
A minute’s silence was held during which many wept, after which people attending the vigil sang Bob Marley’s One Love.
Authorities believe the final death toll from the Grenfell fire will be about 80.

I worked in the semi state sector for years, my god the people in them would get some fright if there jobs were actually at risk.
We can all sympathise with how they may feel, seeing their country being sold out from under them, but beating the ever loving sh.. it out of a 75 year old man isn’t the way to solve anything. That’s the sort of thing that makes their cause worthless, it makes them worse than those they’re angry about. A big muscled lad picking on the weakest in society, yeah that sends a great message.

This is the main piece of the article that deserves attention. The people they carried out the attack were labelled as being far right wing by the office of the countries left-wing leader. A cynical person would question this.
Perhaps the attackers were people that voted for Tsipras and Syriza in 2015 and now are utterly dismayed at how their country is and sold out from under their feet.

The sad thing is there is no end in sight, Greece cannot effectively survive in the euro it is the totally wrong currency for them.
@John Fergus: don’t get me wrong it’s tragic what happened. Those responsible for beating a 75-year-old man should be figuratively hung. That being said the official line on this is likely skewed to benefit those giving it.
