Status Orange wind warning for three counties tomorrow as further wet weather forecast

MET ÉIREANN HAS issued a Status Orange wind warning for three counties for tomorrow as further wet, windy weather is forecast around the country.
The Orange warning will take effect at midday tomorrow and last until 4pm for Donegal, Galway and Mayo.
The forecaster said: “South to south-west winds will reach mean speeds of 65 to 80km/h with severe gusts in excess of 110km/h in the west. Where winds are onshore, there is a risk of coastal flooding.”
Further Status Yellow wind warnings will apply to the rest of the country tomorrow with only four counties in Northern Ireland not under a weather warning.
The ESB said earlier it was working to restore power to thousands of homes and businesses affected by outages.

The outages were focused mainly in Laois, Louth and Mayo.
Today will be very windy with heavy and persistent rain across southern counties, Met Éireann said.
It will become drier in the afternoon with any wintry falls confined to the north-east.
It’ll be cold across Leinster and Ulster with highest temperatures of just 1 to 4 degrees.
In the south and west, temperatures will be significantly higher, with highs of 6 to 10 degrees.
Tomorrow will be very windy or stormy, with a risk of flooding in southern counties. It’ll be milder everywhere, with highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees.
Looking further ahead, Met Éireann said it’ll be a “lot less cold with some mild days in store”. The weather will remain unsettled, however, with wet and breezy spells.
